Who we are
In 1989, my parents, Mike and Neva Forsythe, moved our family of four kids from Northern California to the small town of Glenwood, Iowa to start their own business. For the first two years they ran the company out of our home. In 1991, after purchasing their office building, the City of Glenwood held a ribbon-cutting ceremony welcoming Forsythe Electric to the community.
In 1993 the business was incorporated under the name F.E. MEES Inc., originally standing for Mobile Electrical & Equipment Specialists. Watching my parents build something from the ground up left a lasting impression on me—hard work, resilience, and the willingness to take risks in order to create something meaningful.
In 2009 I moved to Minneapolis chasing a very different dream: music. I joined a rock band as a drummer and spent years pursuing life as a working musician. Like many artists, I needed a way to support that dream, and in February of 2013 a friend introduced me to the restoration and exterior construction industry.
That winter I started the way many people in this business do—walking neighborhoods in the snow, knocking on doors, inspecting homes, and learning the trade from the ground up.
Over the years I gained hands-on experience in roofing, siding, windows, storm restoration, and exterior construction. Today, I’m proud to be a licensed general contractor, combining real field experience with the values I learned growing up in a family business: strong communication, reliability, and doing quality work the right way.
